We believe dog lovers want to know where the ingredients in their dog's food come from. For this reason we don't buy the inexpensive, bulk commodity ingredients found in conventional dog foods.
Instead, we use ingredients that are sustainably raised within our region by people we know and trust, approved ' fit for human consumption,' and then delivered to our door FRESH.

And as all dog are carnivores - evolved to thrive on a diet rich in meats, with smaller amounts of fruits, vegetables and grasses - REGIONAL RED features a Biologically Appropriate (75.25.0) ingredient ratio of 75% meat, 25% fruit and vegetables, and 0% grain - all slow-cooked at low temperatures to retain their natural goodness.
 

RICH IN MEAT (75%)
All dogs are adapted for a diet rich and diverse in meat proteins - not grains and plant proteins. With 75% of red meats and fish, ORIJEN REGIONAL RED features high ratios of meat protein to mirror the natural diet.

A RICH VARIETY OF FRESH MEATS (6)
The natural diet is seasonal and diverse, so REGIONAL RED features a minimum of 6 fresh meats, including wild boar, beef, lamb, heritage pork and bison (all free-range), plus wild-caught fish from Canada's northern lakes and cool Pacific ocean - all delivered fresh each day!
 

FRUITS and VEGETABLES (25%)
In place of high-glycemic grains such as corn, wheat or white rice, ORIJEN features a full complement of regional fruits and vegetables. While providing a limited amount of carbohydrates, fruits and vegetables provide important vitamins, minerals and protector nutrients in a natural and bioavailable form.

GRAIN-FREE (0)
All ORIJEN foods are grain-free and carbohydrate-limited to match the natural diet of dogs.

FRESH FISH (2)
ORIJEN features world-class freshwater and saltwater fish - harvested responsibly within our region and DELIVERED FRESH, so they're loaded with natural-source, non-rendered Omega-3 (DHA, EPA).
All ORIJEN foods are free of plant oils such as sunflower, flax, coconut or canola oils all of which provide Omega-3 in a form that is ineffective for dogs.

RICH in MEAT & PROTEIN | 75% / 38%
ORIJEN REGIONAL RED is made with a full 75% of premium meats including local free-range wild boar, lamb, beef, heritage pork and bison. These high meat inclusions produce a Biologically Appropriate protein level of 38%, which replicates the natural diet and nourishes your dog according to his anatomical adaptation to meat protein.

RICH in ANIMAL FAT | 18%
Animal fats and oils are essential for the peak health of all dogs - that's why ORIJEN is free of plant oils and only features fats of premium animal source. Instead of the highly-processed rendered fats used by conventional pet food makers, over 80% of the fats in ORIJEN occur naturally from high inclusions of fresh red meats and fish.

DHA & EPA from FRESH FISH | 0.5% / 0.3%
Fresh fish is a perfect source of highly digestible and Biologically Appropriate DHA and EPA Omega-3 fatty acids. Essential for your dog's immune and nervous systems, as well as a glowing skin and hair coat, these richly nourishing fatty acids are not available from plant oils such as flax, coconut or sunflower.

GRAIN-FREE & CARBOHYDRATE LIMITED | 0% / 25%
Your dog's natural diet contains very few, if any, grains or carbohydrates. That's why Biologically Appropriate ORIJEN is grain-free and contains less than half the carbohydrates found in conventional dog foods.

LIMITED CALCIUM & PHOSPHORUS | 1.8% / 1.6%
The potential oversupply of calcium and phosphorus in high-protein dog foods is cause for concern. High inclusions of chicken meal, fish meal or turkey meal used to increase protein levels also provide a rich source of minerals and push calcium and phosphorus levels to the upper allowable limits of, respectively, 2.5% and 1.6%.

GLUCOSAMINE & CHONDROITIN | 400mg / 250mg
ORIJEN's high ratios of fresh meats and fish provide a rich source of glucosamine and chondroitin, which is derived naturally from the fresh meat ingredients - without adding synthetic ingredients to the formula.
